Sports Broadcast Talent Network (SBTN) Officially Launches to Create New Pathways in Sports Broadcasting

MIAMI, Fla. — The Sports Broadcast Talent Network (SBTN) has officially launched, introducing a new platform designed to connect emerging and established broadcasters with real opportunities across the rapidly evolving sports media industry.

As sports broadcasting continues to expand through streaming platforms, regional networks, and digital distribution, SBTN was created to help talented broadcasters navigate the changing landscape. The platform serves as a centralized hub for professional development, mentorship, and career opportunities in sports media.

The Sports Broadcast Talent Network brings together broadcasters, mentors, schools, and media organizations in one place. Through talent promotion, coaching, and professional networking, SBTN aims to help broadcasters sharpen their skills, gain visibility, and connect with programs and networks looking for reliable on-air talent.

“SBTN exists to open doors,” said co-founder David Brody, a veteran sports broadcaster and talent coach with more than four decades of industry experience. “There are incredibly talented voices across the country, but the pathway into sports broadcasting isn’t always clear. Our goal is to give broadcasters the tools, feedback, and connections they need to take the next step.”

Brody spent more than 20 years as a national sports talk-radio personality heard across the United States and internationally on the American Forces Radio Network. His career also includes hosting pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage for the Oakland Raiders and Oakland Athletics, hosting Alabama Crimson Tide football programming, and serving as the voice of Princeton Tigers football and basketball.

Since transitioning into talent coaching in 2004, Brody has worked with broadcasters at every level, from NFL play-by-play announcers and major-market radio hosts to college and entry-level broadcasters seeking to break into the industry.

Joining Brody as co-founder is Gabriel Schray, a sports broadcaster and media entrepreneur whose work spans hundreds of live sporting events each year. Schray has built a reputation as a versatile play-by-play announcer and production specialist, working across college athletics, professional soccer, and regional sports broadcasts.

Schray owns and operates a media production company that provides live broadcast services to athletic programs and organizations across the country. He also runs several over-the-top (OTT) sports streaming platforms that provide free access to live games for fans.

His on-air broadcast experience includes Division I football, basketball, baseball, and softball, along with professional soccer coverage on networks including MSG, NESN, and ESPN+. Schray has also worked extensively within the USL and MLS NEXT Pro ecosystems.

“SBTN is about building something the industry genuinely needs,” Schray said. “There are broadcasters out there putting in the work, calling games, building reels, and improving their craft, but they often struggle to get noticed. At the same time, schools and networks are looking for polished professionals. SBTN helps connect those two sides.”

The platform focuses on three primary areas: spotlighting broadcast talent, connecting broadcasters with organizations seeking on-air professionals, and providing coaching grounded in real-world broadcast experience.

By bringing together mentorship, exposure, and industry connections, SBTN aims to help broadcasters at every stage of their careers develop their voice, refine their delivery, and discover new opportunities in sports media.
